Taichi Series \u2013 Shadow Boxing, a very classic piece in Ju Ming\u2019s Taichi Series, this sculpture is composed of two figures engaged in Taichi\u2019s boxing stands, instead of simply practicing Taichi, Ju Ming started to studied it as an artistic language, he delved into the style of Taichi, to understand the relationship between human and the universe in eastern culture. In this work, the two figures maintain a checking balance, one pushing forward and the other stepping back, the artist used very intercut carving skill to show the contrast between the form and mass in sculpture, distinguish between the abstract verse the concrete, he applied modern western technique to express the spirituality of Taichi, this approach from moving one single figure to multiple figures also opened up more creative possibilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Ju Ming conveyed the essence of the east and empowerment through his most prominent \u201cTaichi Series\u201d","protected":false},"featured_media":10890,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-10889","art-piece","type-art-piece","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"yoast_head":"\n
