Huang Benrei’s mother was borned in the year of the rabbit and her surname is “Ni”. “Nini” was created in memorence of her mother, trying to portray a mother like figure with an expression of tenderness and security through her work. In this particular piece, Nini with a simple gesture like a naive child, standing quietly with her hands slightly open to welcome the new experience of life.
