[Macau \u2013 17th October, 2024] Humarish Club presents a series of works by five emerging Asian artists and hold a group exhibition \u201cThe One Less Traveled By\u201d. The artists use their unique artistic language to analyze every delicate moment of life, communicating their personal thoughts and philosophies through their canvases. Wang Jinbo’s serene paintings gleam softly, Minami Kitabayashi fills the darkness with imaginary forests, June Hee’s extraordinary scenes questioning the consciousness and the reality, Wu Shi ‘s use of sand and stone materials centers on personal experience and transience, While Shek continues the symbols and syntax of graffiti on canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening ceremony was held on 17th October, welcoming esteemed guests from the community including: Miss Wendy Hoi, Director of PowerLong Real Estate Holding Limited; Dr. Connie Kong, Founder and CEO of Humarish Club along with Mr. Hua Yuzhou, Founder and Art Director of Humarish Club officiating the ceremony.

Wang Jinbo<\/strong>
Born in 1992 in Hebei, China, Wang Jinbo graduated from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2020 with a Master’s Degree in Oil Painting. Sparkling light is Wang Jinbo’s unique artistic language, expressing his own or contemporary people’s deep-seated fear of socializing. The morphing of figures has always been an artistic expression of his exploration and discovery of himself, they are euphemistic and slightly twisted, trying to find the most comfortable state with himself. By observing the current situation of the society and thinking about the character and attributes of human beings, the artist explores his own inner self and obtains self-compatibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minami Kitabayashi (Japan)<\/strong>
Born in Japan in 1993 and currently residing in Yokohama, Japan. Minami Kitabayashi graduated from Musashino Art University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Oil Painting, and studied at Indonesia Institute of The Arts of Yogyakarta from 2019 to 2021. Lush forests and solitary figures and animals are the most iconic language of Kitabayashi Minami’s paintings. She paints imaginary forests to fill in the darkness, to make it habitable, not to cover it up and ignore it. Kitabayashi has been painting this theme for a long time because she believes that if people can realize that everyone has their own darkness, we can hold someone’s hand with ease. Her paintings are her refuge and can be a gentle weapon to survive in this complicated world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

June Hee<\/strong>
Born in Shenzhen in 1988, June Hee lives and works in Shanghai. She received her undergraduate degree from the \u00c9cole de Communication Visuelle in France, and her master’s degree from the University of the Arts London, Camberwell College of Arts. June Hee’s works, mostly in oil and watercolor, revolve around the topic of \u201cconsciousness\u201d and try to explore the wonderful emotions at the junction of imagination and reality in life. In the form of expression, she hopes to be closer to the way the human brain handles the fragmentation of memories, i.e. to reorganize and subjectively create a more suitable context. By superimposing scenes from different time and space in our life experiences, she builds up a new, more intensely conscious scene, in order to mobilize some resonance in the collective subconscious of the viewers, and to achieve a certain kind of dialogue that explores the depths of life. Therefore, most of the images focus on bold and strong colors and cuts in the layers of the cloth, just like a film montage, describing the multiple threads of the environment in which they are embedded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wu Shi<\/strong>
Born in Liaoning in 1986, now living in Hangzhou, Wu Shi graduated from the Oil Painting Department of China Academy of Art in 2009. The combination of sandstone, a material with a strong sense of fluidity and hardness, and the artist’s painting language creates a collision of things beyond the picture, reflecting our own lives. YOUR STORY is a series of works created by Wu Shi, who has been quietly and seriously contemplating on daily life, personal experiences, events or moments. Wu Shi’s works are not so much an expression of her mood, but more like a record of life’s silhouettes that are happening to you and me from God’s point of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHEK<\/strong>
Shek born in 1989 in Fujian Province, is a graffiti artist and designer who started his graffiti journey in 2012, and has developed his own personal symbols based on the Handstyle and Throw up forms of street art. His long-term street practice has been integrated into his art creation system, and he finds inspiration from Japanese and American comics, electronic music and graphic design language, etc. SHEK’s works have always been digging into the ideals and contradictory realities in the historical background of his upbringing, and his works often carry a long-term development narrative, actively exploring the boundaries of graffiti creation. He has collaborated with international brands such as Balenciaga and Sankuanz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
