[Macau \u2013 24 May, 2024] Humarish Club proudly presents \u201cAll Things Bloom\u201d, the first solo exhibition in Macao showcasing recent works by emerging contemporary artist Geng Defa. The exhibition features 15 newly created hand-painted sculptures and 19 oil paintings by the artist. The fusion of original paintings and sculptures vividly demonstrates the unique charm that arises from combining these two art forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThousands of lights are shining, the sea of clouds is blooming, and everything is blooming\u201d. Geng Defa is a young artist imbued with poetic idealism, whose works exude a romantic surrealistic fantasy that transcends the real world. His artworks possess a healing quality, offering a \u201cpoetic dwelling\u201d that allows audiences to experience the vastness of the universe and the void of life, while also capturing the essence of Zen in Chinese philosophy. They also express an explosive and rapid energy that seems to break through barriers, constructing an external force after breaking free from constraints. Deep in his heart, the artist maintains a profound respect for the spiritual attributes of nature, society and humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening ceremony was held on May 24, welcoming esteemed guests from the community including: Mr. Wu Chou Kit, Member of Macau Legislative Assembly and the Chairman of the Macau Institute of Engineers; Ms. Un Sio San, Director of the Macao Museum of Art of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Ms. Christine Hong, Vice President of Retail & Event Development of Lisboeta Macau; Dr. Connie Kong, Founder and CEO of Humarish Club; Mr. Hua Yuzhou, Founder and Art Director of Humarish Club; along with participating artist Mr. Geng Defa, jointly officiating the ceremony.

About GENG DEFA<\/strong>
Geng Defa was born in Lanling, Shandong in 1986, he is the acting director and associate professor of the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, and master students’ tutor; Bayu Scholar\/Young Scholar. Graduated from the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts of Shanghai University in 2020 with a doctorate degree. He is a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Oil Painting Society, and a director of the Chongqing Oil Painting Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solo exhibitions mainly include: Traveling briefly and forgetting the distance (Saury Art Center, Taipei, 2013), Fishermen’s Talk (Shanghai World Expo Complex, Shanghai, 2015), One Step Away (M-ART Art Museum, Chongqing, 2018), Brilliant (National Agricultural Exhibition Hall, Beijing, 2019), Light (Jinse Gallery, Chongqing, 2022), Gunsmoke (AWAKE Art, Shenzhen, 2022), Fireworks (Fahrenheit Gallery, Shanghai, 2023), Light and Color Catcher (Xun Gallery, Taiyuan, 2023), Starry Dust (One Art, Hefei, 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His works have won the Most Painting\/China Youth Oil Painting Exhibition, Youth Award, the 13th National Art Exhibition\/Beijing Works, Jiangnan Painting\/Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition, Yan Wenliang Art Award, Luo Zhongli Scholarship, Zhang Xiaogang Creative Scholarship, Changxin Art Scholarship, won the Chongqing Art Exhibition\/Silver Award three times. Hosted the National Art Fund\/Young Artistic Creative Talent Project, and his works have been exhibited and won awards in important art museums at home and abroad for many times, including the National Art Museum of China (Beijing), Today Art Museum (Beijing), Shanghai Tank Art Center (Shanghai), Los Angeles Convention and Exhibition Center (USA), Busan Museum of Art (South Korea), Duolun Museum of Modern Art (Shanghai), Sichuan Art Museum (Chongqing), Poly Art Museum (Beijing), etc. His works are also collected by many art museums and individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
